Master Plan
for Lakes Park

Adopted by the Lee County Board of Commissioners in April 2004, the $30 million master plan focuses on enhancing the park’s environmental aesthetics, wildlife habitat and recreational amenities.


Master Plan Highlights:

• Invasive exotic vegetation removal and replanting with native plant life, theme areas of vegetation and water quality improvements

• Fishing piers, new trails, fountains and aerators, a new concession building, more boardwalks, trails and pavilions

• Children’s pool area, swimming pool area, wading pool area, misting stations, showers and lifeguard stations

• Survivor Island with boardwalk, facilities and shelter

• Toy boat pond with central sculpture feature

• Upgrade main and Summerlin Road entries and improve parking

• Renovations, upgrades and additions to shelters, picnic areas and playgrounds

• Upgrade open lawn areas and site furnishings

• Historical interpretative area and primitive camping area

• New maintenance structures and infrastructure and facilities improvements
